1. Overview

Mausam ("Indian Weather & Rain Intelligence", "मौसम") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information our mobile application collects, how it is used to provide accurate weather forecasts and agricultural intelligence, and your rights regarding data deletion.

2. Information We Collect and How We Use It

• Precise & Coarse Location Data: With your permission, the application accesses your device's geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude) strictly to query hyper-local real-time weather forecasts, hourly timelines, agricultural advisory metrics, and rain alerts from our weather data provider (Open-Meteo). Location coordinates are transmitted securely via encrypted HTTPS and are never stored on external tracking servers, nor are they linked to any persistent personal profile.
• Custom Farm / Field Coordinates: Farmers and agricultural users may manually save specific plot coordinates. These are stored strictly on your local device storage.
• User Accounts (Google Sign-In): If you choose to log in using Google OAuth, we receive your public name and email address to authenticate your session. If you choose Guest Mode, zero personal information is collected or required.
• App Preferences: Selected language (out of 13 Indic languages), temperature units (°C/°F), and notification settings are stored locally on your device.

3. Advertising (Google Mobile Ads)

To keep weather information and rain intelligence freely accessible to Indian citizens and farmers, the application displays non-intrusive banner and interstitial advertisements via Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Google Mobile Ads may collect anonymous device diagnostics and advertising identifiers in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your precise GPS location with third-party advertising brokers.

4. Data Deletion & Retention Policy

You have the absolute right to have your data deleted at any time:

• In-App Deletion: Tap the Account Avatar on the home screen and select "Clear App Cache" or "Sign Out" to purge all local cached data immediately.
• Account Deletion Request: Send an email from your registered address to rajivbhardwajj@gmail.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request". All associated profile records will be permanently removed within 48 hours.

5. Compliance with Laws

This policy complies with the Google Play Developer Distribution Agreement, Google Play User Data & Location Policies, and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act of India.

6. Meteorological Attributions

Weather forecasts and historical data are provided by Open-Meteo.com under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). Weather news and advisories are referenced from public bulletins of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), World Meteorological Organization (WMO), NOAA, and Copernicus ECMWF.
